COLOMBO, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka’s inflation as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) rose to 6.0 percent in August, local media citing a report from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) reported here Wednesday.

According to CBSL data, food inflation rose to 11.5 percent in year-on-year terms in August, driven by price hikes in fresh fish, fresh fruits, sugar and chicken.
