COLOMBO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) — Nearly 50,000 dengue cases were reported in Sri Lanka in 2024 with 24 fatalities, according to the latest figures released by the country’s National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).

The NDCU said 49,877 dengue cases were identified in 2024 and the case fatality rate was 0.05 percent.
