MANILA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) — The funeral of Philippine police officer Nelson G. Santiago, who lost his life in a rescue operation for two abducted Chinese nationals, was held Saturday at Teresa town in Rizal province, east of Manila.

On Saturday, the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines sent representatives to Santiago’s home to offer condolences.
