DHAKA, Bangladesh -The pilot of a Bangladesh Air Force Yak-130 jet trainer that crashed at Patenga, Chittagong, on Thursday died while receiving medical care.

Squadron Leader Asim Jawwad died from his injuries at about 12:30 p.m. at the BNS Issa Khan Hospital. He was a Chittagong resident.

The jet trainer crashed in Patenga around 10:30 a.m. owing to a mechanical issue.
