VIENTIANE, April 30 (Xinhua) — The Lao central bank, the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL), has warned the public to be aware of the circulation of counterfeit banknotes.

The BOL issued a notice urging the public to be cautious against fake notes after the distribution of counterfeit 50,000-kip notes of the 2004 edition was detected in the northern part of Laos, Lao national TV report on Tuesday.
