KHARTOUM — Fierce clashes have been raging between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to control an air base south of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, according to eyewitnesses and medical sources on Monday.

The clashes focused around the Al-Nujoumi Air Base in the Jabal Awliya area, about 50 km south of Khartoum, adjacent to the White Nile State, the eyewitnesses said
