YANGON, Myanmar – Following the decision by Bangladesh’s Sonali Bank to freeze the assets of two major Myanmar banks, Myanmar’s junta has prohibited the export of various food commodities to Bangladesh via Maungdaw, Rakhine State.

On September 1, the regime’s Ministry of Commerce announced that the restricted goods, which include rice, beans, peanuts, and onions, could only be shipped through the commercial zone
