KARACHI, Pakistan – Zia Mohyeddin, a legendary theatre and film actor, literary orator, and mentor to many actors, died Monday morning in a Karachi hospital. He was 91.
In 1931, he was born in Faisalabad (then known as Lyallpur) and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He was the first Pakistani to break into Hollywood, appearing in the classic ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ in 1962.
