KATHMANDU, Nepal – The Kathmandu District Court on Friday remanded suspended national cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane in custody for raping a 17-year-old girl.

After the detention hearing, a single bench of judge Madhav Prasad Ghimire issued the order to send the cricketer to the central jail. Police have detained Lamichhane since his arrest on October 6.

With the court’s order, Lamichhane must remain
