KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) — Malaysia’s producer price index (PPI) for local production eased further to 4.9 percent in September as compared to 6.8 percent in August, official data showed on Friday.

The increase was attributed to the manufacturing index which grew 8.1 percent, followed by indices of water supply (4.3 percent) and electricity and gas supply (1.2 percent), the Department of Statistics Malays
