YANGON, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — Myanmar confirmed 359 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 627,997, according to the Ministry of Health on Friday.

The ministry said in a statement that health authorities tested 11,271 people for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate was 3.19 percent.

The death toll from COVID-19 in the country reached 19,470 on Friday
