MANILA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) — A town police chief and his aide were killed in an ambush in Maguindanao province in the southern Philippines on Tuesday morning, police said.
Brigadier General John Guyguyon, police regional director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said unidentified men opened fire at the two policemen’s patrol car around 10:00 a.m. local time along a road in Ampatuan town.
