KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported 4,071 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 4,749,000, according to the Health Ministry on Friday.

There are two new imported cases, with 4,069 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Seven more deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 36,124.
