WASHINGTON D.C.: The U.S. State Department has called upon Vietnam to release environmental advocate Nguy Thi Khanh, adding that the U.S. was “deeply concerned” by her 17th June sentencing to prison.

In a statement, the State Department said, “The U.S. calls on the government of Vietnam to release Khanh, who has been recognized internationally for her work to advance climate change and sustainable energy issues
