HANOI, June 1 (Xinhua) — Vietnam saw a total of 4,733 traffic accidents take place from January to May this year, killing 2,761 people and injuring 3,078 others, according to the Traffic Police Department on Wednesday.
Of the injuries, 1,649 people were severely wounded, it said.
The number of traffic accidents fell 8.7 percent year on year, with the death toll rising 4 percent, showed the official data.
