VIENTIANE, March 16 (Xinhua) — The Lao Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded a noticeable increase in COVID-19 infections as the country reported 848 new cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections to 148,257.

Daily cases of COVID-19 jumped to over 700 on Tuesday after seeing lows of under 300 cases per day just weeks ago.
