MANILA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) — The Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,038 new COVID-19 infections on Sunday, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 3,661,049.

The DOH said 51 more people died from COVID-19 complications, pushing the country’s death toll to 56,401. Of the new deaths, the DOH added that 11 died this year, with the rest last year.
