KATHMANDU, Nepal – Racketeers are creating and circulating counterfeit Nepali rupee notes in the market to gain easy bucks.

This came to light after police apprehended four people in Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, carrying Nepali currency notes valued at Rs 294,000.

The intelligence-based operation was carried out by a special unit of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD).
