YANGON, Myanmar – Myanmar’s military administration announced an amnesty for more than 800 convicts to commemorate the country’s Union Day. It hosted a parade in the capital as a show of force.

On Saturday, hundreds of troops marched with civil servants, carrying national flags in unison, with troupes performing choreographed dances.
