KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported 5,720 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the total tally to 2,887,780.

Of the new infections, 130 are imported cases and 5,590 are local transmissions, showed data released on the health ministry’s website.

A further eight deaths have been reported from the pandemic, bringing the overall death toll to 32,000.
