HANOI, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) — Vietnam recorded 8,744 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, including 8,722 locally transmitted and 22 imported, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the locality with the highest number of infections on Wednesday with 2,716 cases, followed by the central Da Nang city with 778 cases and the central Thanh Hoa province with 353 cases.
