HANOI, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — Vietnam recorded 14,978 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 14,934 locally transmitted and 44 imported, according to its Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remains the locality reporting the highest number of infections, on Sunday at 2,967 cases, followed by central Da Nang city with 984 cases and northern Hai Phong city with 764 cases.
