HANOI, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported 16,838 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 16,763 locally transmitted and 75 imported, according to its Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the locality with highest number of infections on Tuesday with 2,935 cases, followed by northern Hai Phong city with 1,139 cases and central Da Nang city with 943 cases.
