HANOI, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) — Vietnam recorded 7,455 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 7,445 locally transmitted and 10 imported, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.

The new infections brought the total tally to 161,761 with 1,695 deaths, the ministry said.

Among the community cases, 4,264 were reported in the southern epicenter Ho Chi Minh City, 949 in the nearby southern Binh Duong province
