ISLAMABAD, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Pakistan reported 624 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Thursday, the Ministry of Health said on Friday.

The overall tally of the infected people increased to 1,561,579 across the country with the fresh cases, according to data released by the ministry.

According to the ministry’s statistics, a total of 30,520 people died of COVID-19 in Pakistan with the 11 newly reported
