DHAKA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) — In a bid to ease the subsidy burden, the Bangladeshi government has decided to raise the retail price of electricity from March.

Bangladeshi State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the announcement on Tuesday, saying that the electricity price would go up by 34 paisas to 70 paisas per unit (1 U.S. dollar equals about 11,000 paisas).
