JAKARTA, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) — A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia’s western Aceh province on Friday without triggering large waves, according to the country’s meteorology, climatology, and geophysics agency.

The agency initially reported the magnitude of the quake as 6.2 before revising it downward.

The tremors occurred at 18:03 Jakarta time (1103 GMT), with the epicenter located 28 km southwes
